I tip 18% of prefaced on the low end. 30% if they are on top of their game.
Worst I ever did was tip a shitty waitress 20% on a 200$ bill at a buddy's restaurant, but I wrote 20 reasons on a sheet of paper why she didn't deserve the tip.
She quit that night. Thank God.
Treated me like a leper for wearing jeans and a black t-shirt into a low end restaurant masquerading as upscale.

My nightly average was 20-22%.
Some people leave shite tips. Very few leave nothing. VERY few. But there's enough good tippers to balance out the shite ones.

^^^ I was a bartender... but the above is where I usually ended up with that demographic.
