If you aren't from uptown and don't have money, you are dogshite. And you are treated just as such. And there is no problem the right amount of money can't fix. Case in point, just ask one of the large group of guys who cut down one of the oak trees in the school courtyard the last day of their senior year. They still got their diplomas.
iirc, those guys were all expelled.

The school is good for connections in New Orleans and I got a great education. However, the students are the biggest bunch of over entitled pricks I ever met.
I came from Kenner and my parents aren't wealthy, and I had none of those issues. Sorry you didn't have a good experience, that is truly unfortunate.

Yeah idk why Rummel was even mentioned.
Everyone makes fun of them for being po' and dumb.

No they weren't, they just didn't graduate on stage.

De La Salle is apparently charging $10k a pop. They seem pretty proud of their mediocre school and are resting on past laurels

I think ASH is overrated. Everyone always raves about how amazing it is. I don't think it's that great.

You could make the above statement about Newman, Country Day, St. Martin's and some other small NOLA privates, but Jesuit is more diverse than you would have people believe. My son is at Jesuit and has friends ranging from Uptown elites to humble Metry ranch house dwellers; even West Bankers.

I noticed that in this thread NOBODY has said anything regarding Louisiana School of Math Science and Art (LSMSA)
Why??? I assume they were highly regarded.

Rummel's problem is the I heard this and I heard that about Rummel bs.... Which is a crock... Rummel's education system is based on the LaSallian principal... They take most kids and work with them when they struggle... Unlike some schools, if you can't cut it, it's see you later...
Rummel's education system is based on football-playing ability. You can attempt to mask the reality all you want. The fact is the school won't survive unless it quickly changes its number one priority from football championships to high-quality academics.

From Metry and not from money. No one considered me dogshite. That might just be you bro.

Yeah Buddy, 10% of the kids at Rummel play football... And you think that's the school's priority...? Yeah ok...
