I was really young and stupid, felt like I wasn't ready to settle down. So I ended it. Ran into her a year later and felt the spark. Went out on another date and found out she had a perfect GRE score (or damn close) and had gotten an amazing offer for a top ranked grad school (obviously not in LA). Tried to get back together a couple of years later but she had moved on. Taught me not to slam the door on anything until I'm really sure but I think that has led to other bad decisions. Damned either way.

I was a dumb undergrad and had no game. A few years later she had an affair with her boss and married him after he dumped his wife. I guess they're happy but IDK.

Don't really consider her "the one that got away" but dated a girl for 4 years who fell into a religious cult... like, legit. Preacher man was in his 50s and dressed like a metrosexual. Would also have some of the girls from the church come stay with he and his family for extended periods of time.
Told her she could leave that shite or I'm done. Been with me girl now for 7 years and couldn't be happier.
