Spinoff: How long do bookbinders have left?

I used to work for one, but with the internet for how to videos and e books I am surprised they are still going. What function do they serve other than printing the got damn tax code?

I for one enjoy the number of leather bound books in my home and wouldn't mind having more.

If you're talking large commercial operators like those who print/bind text books and John Grisham novels... then I'd say they'll be around just about forever.

Now if you're asking about local operations where you go to get a book spine repaired, rebound, or to get your father's handwritten memoirs bound? I'm honestly surprised there are any left.

I think the specialty publishers will be around for a while. I'm talking the folks who produce special editions of beloved books.

Easton Press, Folio Society etc.
