Spam calling on cell phone

I think I may have found a way to slow these calls down. I hardly ever get them any more.
I've gotten sick of these damn Spam calling on cell phone about low credit card rates etc. lately I press 1 to talk to them. I start carrying on about some totally unrelated type offer, usually getting new siding on my house etc. asking them what colors they have, should I chose a color that matches my eye color, asking can I get a year free financing etc.
Any any rate I think after continually messing with them and wasting their time they got tired and hardly ever call anymore.
If nothing else it's fun to mess with them till they hang up.

I always fake a foreign accent and pretend to be interested. I keep a depleted prepaid credit card in my wallet just for scammers. When it doesn't work I have them call my girlfriend, whose number is a rickroll or John Cena or some other prank along those lines.
The foreign accent slows the process because English isn't my first language. I'm going to misread the credit card number next time as an additional delay tactic.
I suspect the scammers share information because the scam calls are less frequent, and one of my pun names has resulted in them hanging up on me the last three times I used it.

Well, just got one tonight. The original guy was overseas and didn't catch the new pun name but the followup lady did. It was a pop culture reference instead of a pun.

I just start talking to them in Russian and every now and then give them my best "Sorry, not speak English good." They hang up on me.

They call back from a different number. You'll never stay ahead of them. They also keep calling if you tell them you're not interested.
That's why I jerk them around. It's fun, gets back at them by wasting their time, and is the most effective way to get them to stop.
