One of the best generals ever

If only he had lived longer.

He was a quirky sumbitch for sure.
Stonewall's foot cav was one of the toughest armies this country has put onto a field of march or battle.

Last time A&M beat LSU in football - 1995
Last time LSU beat Bama in football - 2011

Number of times SEC A&M has beat LSU in football - 0

And did I mention that USL\ULL has never even scored a TD against LSU. Didn't they beat you guys when you were supposed to a top 25 team?

I'll never understand the worship that some people have for the Southern Generals and the Confederacy. It was a treasonous revolt that cost both sides dearly and set back families for generations, if not wiped them out totally. You are celebrating a guy for raising arms against your government and fellow citizens. I'll never understand it, especially coming from Louisiana people whose leaders surrendered before they even started fighting. I'd be embarrassed to bring it up..

Being out gunned by a lot and taking the opposition to the limit seems worthy of some worship I think.

So you are celebrating two armies of conscripts slaughtering each other for years to eradicate/or save the most evil enterprise that ever transpired on this land.. so do Germans honor Rommel and Himmler? Would that be ok?

Oddly enough the people who actually fought against the Confederates weren't as offended by them as you appear to be. See the numerous reunions after the war.

Those people actually had a reason to be upset.
