f our leader took this seriously back in January we could have been testing people for about 2 months now and maybe not have the extreme measures of shutting everything down

Trump supporters will never believe this even though he wasted weeks calling it a hoax, a media conspiracy, etc. Fortunately, governors and mayors were willing to take the lead when Trump failed to do so. South Korea will long be viewed as the model for response and the economic impact in the US will be far greater than it needed to be.

Eh, we will see if the ultimate response was warranted or worth it.

Sigh....smarter people than you, like Dr. Fuaci, Dr. Birx, etc have explained time and time again that the US president (whomever he or she is) has zero control over the cdc's testing system. The CDC's slow response has nothing to do with oval office policy.

If Hilalry or biden were president, the cdc (run by career officials) wouldn't have been any faster than it was this time. Blame red tape, fda regs, etc for the slow response.

Trump CAN be blamed for the downplaying, but that is more symbolic than anything.

This is called federalism, and is EXACTLY how the system is supposed to work. Governors have public health authority that presidents do not have. Please research 10th amendment.

Look at Italy, France, Spain, Germany, etc

Their response was no better than ours.

SK had a mass testing system in place because of the 2002 SARS outbreak. It had nothing do with the SK president's personal response. It is due to efficient government bureaucracy and streamlined services.

This is so irresponsible. They should wait until at least 2021 to resume any activity. Flatten the curve!
