I've seen a small tiger shark while spearfishing. I usually only go to around 60 feet at the deepest though

That first encounter always makes you shite your pants

I wouldn't say he was "attacked"...

I can't think of a stupider activity than spear fishing in murky water off the coast of South Africa.

I don't think he was ever in danger of being bitten, the shark was just checking him out

Took this near Key West. I think it's a bull shark..? The people who took us out said we wouldn't see any sharks, so I was scared to death when this thing swam by.

I dive a lot. have been between 20' and 140' and have encountered Bulls, Tigers, Sand, Nurse, and numerous other types of Sharks and have a learned to recognize nosey behavior versus aggressive behavior, so I agree with you.

HOWEVER, the day I encounter a White up close and personal like this....I respond the same way.

Were they free diving? I would have drowned.

when we were in s. africa we wanted to go swimming in the ocean. The owner of the b&b said, it was ok but to watch out for crocs, hippos and great whites. we just ended up walking, on the beach.

That is some scary shite. I've never dove. Probably never will. I do think I would fear barracuda more than sharks though.

Questions about pooping yourself underwater:
1. Would it float out of your pants if you opened them up?
2. If you weren't wearing pants, would water go up your butt?
3. Are sharks attracted to poop like they are to blood? Or is it a repellent?

Looks like he ascended way to fast. I wonder if he had any decompression sicknesses after this.

I am pretty sure if that shark wanted to bite/attack him it would have.

This

Your probability of being attacked by a shark increased tenfold when the water is murky. I never go out if the visibility is less than 20 feet or so
