St. Louis, Mo.: Shep, a German Shepherd, was found shot in the neck and back and he had been sodomized by a tree limb. He was paralyzed. They were going to euthanize him because he wouldn't respond to anything but a man named Randy Grim, director of an animal rescue group, organized a team to bring Shep back to life. They nurtured him around the clock, he got his spirit back, and has now been adopted.

The fricker that did this, however, was never found.

quote:

Grim remembers, "I would visit with Shep almost daily, shed some tears and pray for a miracle. When I was told there is nothing left that could be done, instead of putting him down, I picked him up and brought him to my shelter. I gathered a large group of staff, volunteers and vets and came up with a plan to help heal this special dog. It worked. We beat all odds, and now Shep can even run!" Randy says he gets emotional whenever he thinks about Shep and his incredible journey. "It feels really good to finally share his remarkable story, and I hope it inspires people like he has inspired us within the Stray Rescue family."

The story is a little dated and might be Germans. I don't care.

People are horrible.

I wonder how he went from paralyzed to running.

Probably some video game playing young adult white male who has become desensitized to reality by all the violent games.

Imo, this is one of the major problems in our country.

From other links relating to the story, it appears they gave him physical therapy. Some of his issue was he had no will to recover and not be paralyzed. The dog was mentally dead.

I made the terrible mistake of trying to google search whether they had caught the person (they had not) and found about four more stories like this (e.g. dog chained to tree for for months, never unchained, and starving) and it just breaks my heart.

Seriously, what kind of human (a non-human, in my opinion) treats a dog this way?

It was probably more than one person - that dog is strong and big and he was probably fighting like hell. unfortunately there are multiple sick fricks walking around doing God only knows what.

Agree that these are serial killers in the making. People need to wake the frick up and demand heavy sentences for crap like this.

People really suck. I'm glad the dog made a good recovery.

Whoever did this is a despicable person, but your opinion about video games has not been well supported in research, but is especially absurd to make that assumption in this case.

That's why more than likely we'll never see the appropriate stiff punishment for the cowards that do this. Unfortunately, people are going to always say, "it's just an animal".

That or the dog killed the guys dog or cat and he took some sadistic revenge on it. Somehow I hope it's that and not just some psycho torturing animals.
