Ever since the mobile version was updated to show the votes, I noticed that almost all of mine have one DV. I get concerned when I don't see one, thinking I actually said something agreeable to the person
It does seem kinda weird when isn't online for awhile, but then he'll log on, go to my post history and DV everything without reading them, and all is well again

I think Williams was 6'3"
The U.S. astronaut program initially screened for shorter guys - I think there was a 5'11", 180 pound limit (which is fairly restrictive - Ed White was considered a "big man" for an astronaut, at just under 6' and just under 200 pounds, so he must have got a waiver) - Yuri Gagarin was only 5'2" - and although a great pilot, his (relative lack of) height was a positive.
But, you're correct - when they need pilots - those tape measures stretch a little and the whole "common sense" ruler comes out.
Ted Williams was big for a naval aviator - particularly at the time, 6'3" and about 200 to 210 pounds during that era.

I've got a friend that is a Naval Academy grad, wanted to be an aviator, he's about my height but his torso is about 3/8' too long so he's an NFO on a P-3, I would have been severely bummed out, he lives with two P-3 pilots and they give him shite about it unmercifully

That's why I would have gone surface warfare, baw. I'm "low average", so I actually considered submarines, had I been accepted to the USNA.
The Army and I have been a better fit.

After the war, he remained active in the embryonic USAF(R). He was a non-duty oberver on a B-52 mission during the Vietnam War. He refused to allow any publicity to be released in connection with his participation. He retired a BG in the USAF(R) and was promoted to MG on the retired list by President Ronald Wilson Reagan.
His stepson was also killed in Vietnam, IIRC.

Hardworking taxpayers of taste and refinement who enjoy country music, witty repartee, and swimming adore me

When you only care about the audience of yourself, you're always "on" and always dazzling, right?

Vietnam-era vet, to be accurate. He was stationed in Europe. He's also a Mason

somebody went through DVing all the posts in this thread -- including mine on Heisman winner Nile Kinnick dying for his country
If it makes you feel any better, I don't think it was against you personally.
I've noticed that in a few Darth threads, somebody likes to DV every post in it, almost like he thinks he's punishing you for participating and that you'll learn your lesson from the experience.
