So if you were a contractor, would you show up to a client's house with this flag?

Black family fires contractor who shows up to job with Confederate flag on truck

A black family fired an independent contractor they had hired for a job after he drove to their home with a giant Confederate flag affixed to his truck.

Allison and Zeke Brown of Atlanta, Georgia hired the man, whose name is Michael, to replace the brakes on their golf cart. When he arrived at their home on Saturday, an enormous rebel flag was attached to his truck.

“Hi, you know what, I do apologize, I know you’ve come from a very long way, but we’re going to use someone else,” Allison, 40, a radiation therapist, tells Michael, as captured in a video on her Ring app.

“She’s upset with the flag,” explains Zeke, 48.

“No, I’m beyond upset with the flag,” corrects Allison.

Michael offers to remove the flag, but Allison says, “No, you don’t need to take it down. You can continue to believe what you need to believe, sir. But no, I cannot pay you for your services. Thank you, have a good day.”

He’s an idiot. Keep that shite to yourself and don’t bring it with you to work. I don’t care what flag it is. I wouldn’t even let my employees ride around with any political stickers if they used their own vehicles. Just asking for it and you don’t want those people working for you.

Nothing that happened in this article get me riled. The guy has a right to fly that flag. The home owners have the right to politely tell him they don't want to hire him.

But if I'm trying to make money as an independent contractor, flying such a divisive flag would not be on my list of ways to attract business. I don't think "smart, hard-worker" when I see a truck or home with that flag attached to it.

Nothing wrong with this exchange at all. She's complete justified in her decision and was mature with her response to him. Maybe he'll learn to be more careful with his political beliefs as they can and do alienate customers.

Dummy. A little common sense should have told him not to roll up to his black client's home sporting a six foot Confederate flag on his truck.

Frick that! So now we have to be closet Patriots? Why does he have to keep to himself what he believes in? Why doesn’t Allison have to keep to herself what she believes or doesn’t believe in?

Perfectly handled. If more people would react this way and not go screaming to the news demanding social justice, things would be a lot better.

I know a contractor who got kicked off a job for telling the client he hated the Denver Broncos.

He doesn't. He should just be prepared to turn off potential customers.

And what do you think the poli board's response would be?
