Most of the stuff Phil Hartman did was comedic genius.

He was funnier doing sketch comedy than most of the shorts, like lazy Sunday.

That's not a fair comparison, though. Phil Hartman was a legend and a comedian's comedian. He was the kind of guy who could make anyone laugh.
