Is this life as awesome as I'm imagining? Let's assume single by choice with no latent desires to settle down. No kids obviously.

I can't even get beyond just the money savings part.

I'm not I only make $85k

Nearly 40% of my income goes to student loans so I am anything but a baller. I am accelerating the payments on my loans so I can get them out of the way sooner.

I can't even afford a damn Nintendo Switch or a couch for my new apartment or to go home and visit my family that I have seen once in the last 18 months

I sometimes fantasize about what I would be able to do with my salary if I was single. It's just a fantasy though, I wouldn't trade my family for anything.

Depends on debt situation. It's nice not to have to worry about money, or dropping a grand or two on a spur of the moment weekend get away, but at the same time your work/life balance is probably not that good. It just depends on the person, I suppose.

I'm close to this bracket, however loans are what kills me. If I didn't have that, I would be crushing it. That said, I still go on trips and can buy what I want whenever within reason .

I need this Trump tax reform.

Also need this supposed "conservative" governor of Kentucky to do something to lower state taxes.

I have to pay state income tax at 6% AND local tax at 2.5% here.

When all is said and done 33% of my income goes to taxes. That's too much

I'm in the 35-40 range. shite sucks. Me, my bro and his wife could house and feed a family of 20 on the taxes we pay. It's disgusting.
