During last week's heavy rain, the roof collapsed on a defunct transmission shop at the end of Jordan St. in Shreveport (near the railroad tracks and I-20). The man with Railroad Safety Consultants, who was nearby when the collapse occurred, said it "sounded like an explosion" and the sidewalls didn't fall down - they blew out. They had to clean a lot of brick off the tracks.

Because the building had no windows and was solid gray, a lot of photographers used it as a photo backdrop.

Most of these old buildings would be full of vagrants in a rain, but this one they could not break into.

It is at the end of Jordan St. down from Loyola H.S. It is along I 49 by the railroad bridge over I 49.

If you were coming out of downtown on Texas St. to go to Herby K's, it would be on your right just after you cross over I 20.

They can go pick up some bricks and make their own backdrop now.

There were bricks blown across the street. I thought the building had always been collapsed.

SFD was called on scene as a rescue because they thought people were inside.
