I feel like I can invest that money in better vehicles and get more bang for my buck.

On top of actually seeing that buck when I turn 60 (God willing.)

Obviously yes, we SHOULD be able to and yes you COULD "invest" that money better than SS.

However, the Gov't will never let that happen. If anything, in the coming years they're going after 401K's

Interesting thought. I'll ask my risk management coordinator and get back to you.

Yes, but they need our money to continue this ponzi scheme. The system would collapse otherwise.

Never mind that we won't see a penny of that SS.

Social security is a ponzi scheme that we (young people) are going to be on the losing end of.

I get furious every time I see it on my paycheck, because I know I won't get it when I'm that age.

They need to raise the age dramatically.

It'll never happen because social security is a ponzi scheme. They don't have your money. It's being paid to current recipients

Absolutely. The only way to end the social security experiment is to stop funding it, and that has to start with people who have little or nothing invested in it.

That's not social security.

Social security is 65.

I'm probably not going to be able to draw on my social security anyway. All the funds will be gone by the time I retire
