Should I rent out or sell my house.

The wife and I are looking at building a new house. We currently own a 3 bedroom 1 bath house with carport and concrete driveway. Debating if I should sell my house or rent out to help pay note on new house or sell to put down payment. Would probably ask 100k-120k if sold or 700 a month to rent.

depends on a couple of factors:
- what you expect the value of the current house to do in the future (appreciate or depreciate).
- how much time and patience you have for dealing with renters.

Have you ever been a landlord before? Don't underestimate the time and costs of maintenance. If the AC goes out or a pipe busts, you can't tell the tenant to deal with it like you would. Oh, and they'll probably get it dirty and break things and do all kinds of stuff you consider disrespectful to YOUR house.
