Serious question: Is racial diversity a doomed dream?

It seems like the racial diversity experiment worldwide has failed. Racial tensions are at their worse. Races in America and other countries are self segregating, even promoting the separate but equal mindset.
Do countries that have low racial diversity have less problems?

Meh, I see kids of different races hanging out together all the time. Even going to church together, which never used to happen. Interracial marriages are at an all time high. Don't let shrill people with an axe to grind distract you from reality.

it's what happens when you try to legislate feelings. you can't force people to get along. it doesn't work that way.

Racial diversity exists all over the place. I work with many different races and we all get along swimmingly. In college, I had class/study groups with non-whites and there were zero issues. Sports...same thing.
Blacks and whites get along every day. The problem is the EXTREMELY VOCAL group of people (often times blacks) that feel like if whites aren't falling over themselves to somehow pay black people back for slavery, we're racist and are wrong and shoudl feel bad. They're the ones who will doom the ultimate dream. The overwhelming majority of blacks and whites, IMO, just go on about their day.

My social circle is made up of all kind of ethnic backgrounds and classes. Why people can't see each other as one I will never understand.
