2015 Sequoia 30k miles and 2016 Suburban 30k miles. Both similarly equipped and priced. I'm partial rob Toyotas but trying to keep and open mind.

Toyota has dependability and crappy gas mileage. Chevy has more space, nicer feature but I worry about the dependability of a GM truck. Will be used for hauling 3 mini me's 4 yo and under.

Any thoughts appreciated.

There are so many old suburbans on the road, I wouldn't worry about it. For me it would come down to whether you need the extra cargo space or not.

Both great vehicles.

I put about 180,000 miles on a Chevy full sized with no issues. I'm also a fan of the Sequioa as well.

Can't beat Toyota for longevity. Those cars last forever.

I'm going with the suburban here. Both are super reliable. You'll get better towing capacity and mileage. Plus the Sequoia will make you look like a soccer mom.

Depends on if you need the extra room of the suburban, both are great choices. The Sequoia will be overall more reliable, but the Chevy will have no problem hitting 200k miles if you plan to own long term.

Suburban.

But those are both good options.

The 5.7 has a bit more HP and torque than the suburban. I agree the suburban does look better, as the sequoia hasn't changed since 2008. Really, both are great options but I'd probably go with the Sequoia, dependability matters especially with your kids involved.

Do they both have leather seats? I'd go with the one with leather. Kids will stain the hell out of cloth seats. Also, if you prefer the suburban, but are worried about all the bells and whistles going out, buy an extended warranty (not from the dealership).

I bought a Tahoe LTZ with 30k miles, and a extended warranty through USAA, and couldn't be happier. Also, I have a little one, and learned the hard way that leather seats were the way to go. The little shite devalued the hell out of the last vehicle I owned with cloth seats. Also, get weather tech mats for whatever vehicle you get. Good luck!

Aftermarket extended warranties are a bigger joke than factory ones. At least the factory one has a chance of actually covering something.

From my experience, I have to disagree. My extended warranty already paid for itself twofold with the gasket and motor on the sunroof going out, and the DVD player going out. Then again, I got the warranty through USAA. So, it was inexpensive, covers pretty much everything, and I can bring the vehicle to any certified mechanic in the country.

My old man drives 55,000 miles per year and has a 2008 Sequoia. That thing has 330,000 mikes on it and he's going to drive it till 400k. He's never had any major problems.

I love Toyotas and drive a Tacoma but, I'd go with the Suburban. They're just great vehicles. Mrs. LSUwag had a Tahoe and it was arguably the best all around vehicle we've ever had. We loved it and still miss having it. We had to trade it because her elderly Mother was unable to get in it because it was too high. It was a sad day when we traded that truck.

I had a new Dodge at the time which turned out to be complete garbage. Man, did I regret not trading the Dodge and keeping the Tahoe for myself. Big mistake.

It definitely depends on the manufacturer.

Is GM still owned by the government? My company went all Ford after the Feds bailed out GM and Chrysler a few years back.

Sequoia is a smooth ride. I had a 2010 model and it felt like I was riding on a cloud.
