Anyone else enjoying this 2017 secondary tax bill due at the end of the month for owning property in New Orleans? I've only had property there for about 6 years but have never received an extra tax bill.

Anyone else got one of these prior to 2010? Mitch trying to raise a little extra cash for some statue removal?

Yep. Welcome to New Orleans. You pay ridiculous property taxes and get no crime prevention, third world services and crappy public schools.

I think it has something to do with the sewerage and water board.

No I didn't. Its not for a primary residence. Rental property. I don't live there. I just get to pay a shitload of property taxes.

We have multiple rental properties too and have to pay this tax on all of them including our primary residence. Like another poster said it's not that much.

One was to bail out the fire fighter/statue removal pension fund

Roughly 50/100k

No doubt it was the talk of the protests. I mean, if any of those people actually paid property tax in the city.

Gotta pay to keep Mitch off of house arrest. He was pretty embarrassed the first time

Nothing like "union" fire fighters with a golden parachute pension.

City just needs to file bankruptcy and be done with all these stupid pensions.

My friend had a literal geyser in his front yard for close to a month before he was able to shame these assholes into coming out and fixing it.
