I thought it would be a good idea for those of us with gills to identify ourselves to one another...maybe share how long you've been diving...level of certification...favorite dive spots...etc.
I'll start. I've been diving about 6 years. have my Rescue Cert and will probably complete Master Diver Cert next year. I hit Cozumel about 3-4 times per year and know the island like the back of my hand, so if you have any questions on Cozumel, I am happy to help.
I also dive the Gulf Panhandle a decent amount, but prefer all the islands in the Carib.

Got certified at Gary's Gulf Divers in Gulf Shores about 8 years ago. Gary was a huge a-hole but he was good. Now I can't locate my PADI card and I have no idea where my scuba gear is
Gary's was a good shop and they do a regular dive of the USS Oriskany, which is a sunken aircraft carrier off the coast of Pensacola. Requires deep water and fun fact it is the carrier that John McCain flew off of when he was shot down over Vietnam.

I used to dive in Sicily but my landlord owned a dive business and brought the equipment taught me without certification, I am getting mine this summer.

Been diving for two years here. I have my advanced open water and enriched air cert as well.
I have been to Cozumel twice (love the drift diving there!) I am doing a trip to Colombia in May and will do a one day dive in Santa Marta (not a really a diving trip more of sightseeing on this one).
In June I am going to little Cayman for a week long diving trip!
I have dove in Roatan, The Bahamas, and Bonaire.

I dive from time to time :)
Advanced with Nitrox. Diver at Audubon. Belize is my current favorite but Cozumel is always a good spot.
Finished off my gear purchases for a while by upgrading to Atomic Regs and a new Suunto watch/computer.
Dive logs:
Florida Springs ( Cert )
Rigs
Keys
Alabama
Cozumel
Cayman
Belize
Roatan

Not to hijack, but what does it take to get started/certified to safely spearfish the rigs? I've always wanted to start doing that, and now that the last child graduates in a month I plan on being a bit more adventurous in my outdoor activities.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Been certified for 3 yrs now. I have my advanced open water and nitrox cards. I am working towards Master certification. I'm certified through SSI which requires a certain number of dives to upgrade unlike PADI. I have dove in The Keys (mainly Key Largo) a few times, Curaçao, and the Florida Pan handle. Really want to go to Belize and Roatan this summer.

NAUI certified back in the late 90's with the first wife. We dove Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Coz, Bahamas, St. Lucia, and some fresh water spring fed rivers in Fla. (Manatee are awesome).
I have only been once since the new wife doesn't dive. I miss the diving, but not the expense.
For the money, Cozumel is my favorite place to go.

been diving since 91. Wife dives too, and our 10 year old just got certified.
Been many times to
Cozumel
Cayman
Belize
Honduras
ETA: Jamaica, Dominican Repupblic, and Isla de Mujeres
Want to go to
Turks
Bonnaire
Truk Lagoon
Daughter just did her first trip with us to Grand Cayman. She had her second dive EVER with a friendly nurse shark that actively followed us arround and let you pet it. I shite you not. It's the damndest thing and I've got it on video. She has no idea how rare and precious that dive is and will be.

I've been certified for 3 years. About a year back I got Advanced and Nitrox. I dive mainly in Cozumel with 1 diving trip to La Paz and Cabo. I also go diving in California for spiny lobster off of Palos Verdes and Catalina with friends.

I farted in Mike Nelson's air tank.

I used to have an advanced certification. Haven't been in a long time. No good places to dive nearby and driving eight or more hours wasn't an efficient use of my time. I really enjoyed diving in the springs in FL.

I got NAUI certified in 1980 and used to dive the rigs. Back then we dove with a laminated navy dive table attached to our BC, a wristwatch, and depth gauge and pressure gauge.
Aluminum 80 cf tanks with powder coated exterior was the newest thing.
I assume scuba pro is still around?

Went to Destin to get certified, blew my eardrum out on the first open water dive.
Asked them to refund some of my expense since I wasn't able to complete. They said "No, come back and finish the course in a couple months for free."
I said "No, I'm not diving ever again, my ear fricking hurts like a bitch. I'm giving it up."
They said "tough shite, you paid full price for the course upfront"
I said "Go frick yourselves"
then I went to the beach and got drunk.
don't go to these fricks for your certification
