Spare me the war lecture. We aren't going to "beat them". They WANT TO DIE. You can't use white phosphorus against an idea. That being said, I like that they are being bombed for the same reason everyone else does (preventing organization and retribution). However, resorting to chemical warfare is something I will never be on board with.

Bingo. you've hit the nail on the head. And while doing it you've also identified why we've still not "won" the war on terror. Basically it all boils down to the fact that the only way to get these idiots to stop with the terrorist crap is to get across to them two things:

1. They have no hope of every defeating us.
2. Continuing their "jihad" against the West will only result in the total inhalation of their entire society and way of life.

In short, we've got to take them to the very edge of the abyss and make them stare down at the total and complete destruction of their civilization. That's the only way this will ever stop. The only question left at this point is are we willing to do what it takes to accomplish this goal? Sadly, I don't think we are.

Death of their cult members only strengthens the ideological basis on which the cult was formed. It may be decimated with bombs, but it also grows, too.
