re: Running vs Cycling

I was a runner, switched to cycling because of bone spurs. I miss running, because I don't get the same kind of burn cycling. On the other hand, when I have to change plans suddenly, I can get home quicker.

I reserved a room for next year, gonna volunteer and then do it again in 2014. It was a very fun race. Tempe is set perfectly for it.

re: Running vs Cycling
I'm very surprised this hasn't been brought up: Track Cycling

BR has one of the best velodromes in the country. Track cycling is VERY different from road cycling. It is short sprints NASCAR style and its fun as hell. There no long boring 4 hour rides, just quick sprints full of adrenaline. Its absolutely terrifying doing 150rpm just inches from other bikes. Track cycling is for weight lifters as road cycling is for runners. Also a plus... track cycles are extremely simple, therefore cheap at entry level.

re: Running vs Cycling
Cycling people wear those homosexual outfits and think the road is theirs to use as they please which they are probably correct on from a legal standpoint but that SUV you cut off will still kill you dead every time even if you're the one with the right of way. Cyclists are a danger to themselves thus they are not that smart.

You guys all keep working for that 150 pound frame. I'll stick to crossfit and weight training and look like a real man.

Cycling and steroids? Wrong sport. Epo, testosterone patches and blood doping OTOH...

Neither is good for your joints if done excessively. Running over 30 miles per week or cycling over 85 miles per week is foolish and bad for your joints. The idea is to increase VO2 max not ruin cartilage.

Not trying to say cycling or running is easy btw. Just think it's funny to see a pissing contest between frickin cycling and running. Who cares which is harder? They both just make you scrawny

re: Running vs Cycling
I did some track cycling when I was a teenager. It was fun. Hard to get used to a fixed gear bike. I've been threatening to take my TT bike out there to do a workout as a change of pace.
