NO Advocate

Manslaughter, in La., is a killing committed in 'sudden passion or heat of blood immediately caused by provocation sufficient to deprive an average person of his self-control and cool reflection.'

Accused?
Stupid reporter
When you confess and have witnesses, you did it

manslaughter isn't proven
I am guessing it is manslaughter though

It's the right charge and a jury will decide.
Unlike the Hayes charge of murder. Hayes will/should walk. If they had properly charged Hayes with manslaughter it might have stuck
JP smarter than OP

Covers JP. They do this and jury lets him walk

Told yall they would do this once that had the evidence to make a charge stick.

I'm sure this will stop all the idiots claiming a lynching happened.

I don't want to derail the thread, but what leads you to this conclusion?
IF Hayes can't use self defense, there's really no reason a second degree murder charge is off the table IMO.

Yep and just wait and watch Cordell Hayes walk out of jail later this week.

Statement is accused of fatally killing
That implies that he may not have killed mcknight, which is just wrong.
Like I said. Shotty reporting

While this was a terrible tragedy, we are kinda lucky this shooting took place in JP. If it happened a 100 ft east in Algiers, we'd probably be having riots right now. JPSO isn't having any of that shite.

frick the innocent until proven guilty thing that our legal system is built on huh, Rouge?
I am not saying he is innocent but he is only "accused" as of now because he is owed his due process.
