Freedom of speech means that the GOVERNMENT can't discriminate against you based on your views. Rob is an individual. State Farm is a private company. Telling State Farm that they can't fire their spokesperson when his views contradict their message would be stepping on THEIR right to free speech.
I understand this but I was talking in a broader sense and not about free speech as defined by the government. We now live in a world where personal free speech is being squelched because others disagree with it and it has the consequences of dampening not only free speech but free thought. I think it's a bad trend.

The difference is he's a well paid spokesman for a National Company. They don't pay him to make controversial statements. They pay him to be the image for the company. They pay him to keep his mouth shut and read his lines off the teleprompter.
Didn't the same shite happen to the AFLAC duck dude just a few months ago?

Props for Yossarian in your avi, but there was no way that movie was going to do the book justice.

I disagree. He is paid to be a comedian and not paid to be a spokesman for Insurance.
Making wise cracks about copies doesn't make one a spokesperson.

if state farm thinks his outspoken personal views on a subject will take money from them, they get rid of him. Plain and simple
I dont see the problem

They are a health care company and he is advocating a very dangerous and stupid medical position. Its a bad ad anyway and he isn't funny.

Rob Schneider is unemployed again
I didn't even know who Rob Schneider was. I thought maybe this handyman was out of work or something...

I'd fire him for his lack of critical thinking skills.
If he's anti-vaccine, that's all I need to know about his intelligence. I like Blue Bloods, and Donny Walberg's character was my favorite, but now that I know he's marrying patient outspoken zero, I've come to hate him.

He isn't? Have you seen the commercials? He doesn't mention State Farm or insurance once, but makes multiple jokes. So tell me how can he be getting paid for being a spokesman when he doesn't speak one word about the company and how isn't he getting paid to be a comedian when all he did was tell jokes?

Penn and Teller did a bullshite episode on this topic.
After listening to Jenny McCarthy and Her Quack behind the movement, you would have to be a brain dead moron to actually be in favor for their movement. They looked like fools.
Remember, that dumb broad claimed her son was cured, and was out of public view for many months after her claims, surprise surprise, he still has a disability.
