Making a roatrip with some friends to Chicago next week. Anybody know of some can't miss detours on the way up there. Gotta make it an adventure

If it's not too late to call an audible, take the amtrak.

For real, its a blast if you've got a fun group. Takes about 18 hours. Leaves NOLA about lunch time every day & you're there by the morning.

I've always wanted to do this. Can you hop off on the way up there and get back on later with the same ticket? Unfortunately, I'd imagine that you cannot.

We considered the Amtrak but our Yankee Sherpa insisted we drive for demographic reasons.

Hit up some good day drinking spots. There are a ton of them in the city. It's going to be in the high 70's/low 80's this weekend (first really warm weekend this year), so the ladies will be out in full form. Do not miss it.

There's a huge-arse Superman statue in Metropolis, IL.

Dixie Gun Works would be a fun stop.
