Charlie will never live as free man for the rest of his days. I doubt that he gets the last laugh.

He outlived the guy who originally secured the death penalty for him. That's a small but undeniable "victory".

Manson's gonna live to be 100. He gets three regular meals a day, has zero stress in his life and aside from not being on the "outside", lives a pretty easy life. I doubt anyone fricks with him.

RIP .
I read Helter Skelter twice. Still a top 5 definitive crime book.
He had some wacky political views late in life.

His book on the OJ case was great - "Outrage".

Agreed. I loved to hear him discuss that case.

there are some fates worse than death and living in prison might be considered one of them by some

But not by Manson. I think he enjoys prison.

A smart man indeed. A good one for sure.
To Add : Wayne Williams, the black guy who killed the Atlanta children in the 80s, also outlives Vincent.

The one case the experts like Vincent did miss was the Washington DC snipers profiles. I missed on that one, too.

Bugliosi, along with the guys who did the 3D modeling and virtual reality re-enactment, convinced me that Oswald acted along in killing Kennedy. Dude was a prosecutor of the highest order, and used nothing more than the simple facts.

I'm not a huge VB fan, but he did the public a favor with his analysis of the JFK assassination.

Been wanting to read that, but damn that's a long book.

I was pretty sure that Oswald was the only shooter, but I really liked the 3D modeling and virtual reality (if you are referring to the same one I saw several years ago - with the ray traces and simulation with live ammo). However I did not note, or remember, that Bugliosi was part of that exercise.

I still think LBJ had his sycophants conceive, or facilitate, the plan.

Helter Skelter was one of the best books I've ever read, and to this day, it's the only book that has actually made me scared. I read it in my dorm room with no hidden nooks or crannies my freshman year, surrounded by 9 floors of other people, but I had to turn all the lights on like a bitch.

VB was a tremendous storyteller. RIP.

Prison ain't no thing for Charlie. He'd already spent over half his 30 some-odd years incarcerated when Bugliosi prosecuted him.

RIP Vincent Bugliosi. Some years ago the Jefferson Parish Bar Association was having a conference in Biloxi. Mr. Bugliosi was flown in to be our speaker and guest of honor. He was promoting his book "Outrage" at the time. He was a riveting speaker. He was also very personable as he mingled with the attendees. The last day we had a crawfish boil outside by the hotel pool. It was April but it must have been pushing 90 degrees out there. Vincent shows up in a suit. We had to teach him how to peel crawfish. He ate a few, but you could tell by the way he was looking at them that he was doing so very reluctantly. I am glad I got to meet him.

I got to meet VB in 1979, heard him give a talk and got to speak with him afterward. Found him to be very personable. RIP
