We've went several times with the kids. They enjoyed it but it was $400+ for a family of 4 by the time you're done

Which would scarcely cover tickets to an NFL game or a decent game with LSU...

"Thank you folks for coming to the final performance of the circus. As you know, protests about our animals is a large reason we are closing tonight. We want to assure everyone that the animals will be peacefully euthanized by the veterinarians who are standing by to get to work."

"Good night! What? Oh, you thought we were going to keep feeding and housing the animals with no revenue coming in? LOL."

The media never publicized the $25.0m in settlements RB got from animal rights groups over their false allegations that elephants were being mistreated.

I hate that the circus train will be gone. I remember a few years ago one stopped in Shreveport to water the elephants - quite a few people came out to watch.

Corporate cowardice played a role. They gave in to PETA and their ilk (by not having elephants any more) who weren't going to attend the circus anyway. They then experienced a ticket drop by those who won't go to the circus if there are no elephants.

First Sea World and now this. The next war to be won will be the closing of zoos and aquariums.

Surely the evolution and advancement of alternative entertainment options played a role in these institutional declines. But continual attention on animal cruelty painted these industries as a type of pariah.

Progressive/animal rights folks are winning. Just glad that I and my soon to be adult kids were able to experience these types of attractions growing up.
