Getting on, on the the northernmost station. Would like to stop on whatever stop has restaurants/bars and watch some games get some drinks around the middle of the day, and then a couple hours before kickoff go ahead and ride down to the stadium.
Main reason I don't want to go to the stadium earlier in the day is from how things are shaping up, it looks like Reliant, NRG, Advocare, whoever is in charge is doing a good job of castrating all pre game fun activities.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

You can stop at one of the Midtown stops, but it will be a bit a few blocks walk to most of the bars. The other big areas on the light rail line are the museum district and medical center.
I'm assuming you're starting off downtown, in which case there are plenty of bars and restaurants there already. There's a new sports bar opening up called Sports Live, and they just opened a rugby bar that's pretty baller. Both of them are on the light rail line and should have good sports watching. There are also a lot of new cocktail bars that are worth checking out. If you want more information, holler.
