For now... the parish officials are trying to change that.

I use Republic and it's about $55 a quarter. Once a week. No recycling. Using can left with the house. They run like clockwork every Tuesday.

Wait, you guys can decide who picks up your trash?

You can also decide who cleans your septic tank and who services your water well.

Just increased their price again. Used to be $78.00 with Acadian Waste every 3 months. Waste Pro came in and lifted rate to $81.00 every 3 months.

Latest bill, $88.50 for every 3 months and I have no past due balances.

Yea WTF! I just got my bill yesterday and saw this shite. This is what the 3rd increase in 3 years.

I like the twice a week pick up, but I don't care for the new price increase.

Dales, he is locally owned and started picking up trash in his pick up with 30 customers, has done quite well for himself and I am proud to support him

Met him before. Nice guy. I support local businesses. Calling him a POS is harsh.

I imagine this has something to do with the consistent increase in fuel cost.

I can decide the septic cleaning company but not my trash pick up. That's a tad strange to me.

How many companies are there to choose from?

So have I and I didn't form that opinion of him by talking to him or based upon his trash collection business. It was when he brought his rocky relationship with the parish officials into my life and nearly cost me a large sum of money that I lost respect for him. I understand his animosity towards the powers that be, but he had no reason to invite himself onto my property and do what he did. That's all I say.

No municipal contract for parish of Ascension. Only individual subscription service from whichever company you use. Waste companies with highest density of companies in the parish have the lowest costs . Others will have repeated increases through the years to make up beginning low price.

No increase for me. It's been $84 since I signed up three years ago.
