Removing pin striping from truck?

My truck came with vinyl pinstripes and I want to remove them. Is it hot enough outside to just slowly peel them off? Do I need a heat gun? After removal, how do I remove that buildup from the edges of the pin stripe? Thanks guys

Probably best to use a heatgun.
My cousin just tried to peel his off and peeled off clearcoat with it

Heat gun, goo gone, magic eraser, elbow grease. Have fun.
You'll also want to polish and wax the area after because there will be no protection on the paint after you do that.

This.
Don't know what to tell you about the edges.

Just use a heat gun or hair dryer and some sort of plastic scraper.
Not sure of the age of the truck but if it's older the paint will probably look different under the pinstripe... due to sun fading the rest of the vehicle slightly.

You got this. Heat fun or hair dryer. Same with any lame dealership lettering.

magic eraser
dont use that, use goo gone and a really soft cloth. magic erasers put a ton small of scratches in paint.

Heat gun if you must. Just peel if you can. Try to stay away from scraping. Don't burn your paint. WD40 for the extra goo...

If it's dirty, sure. But anything will leave scratches if you aren't wiping over a clean surface.

If the pinstripes are on top of the clear coat there shouldn't be build up. If you have some build up then they may have a layer of clear on top of them and in that case they're staying there.

No. Magic eraser is basically very fine sandpaper. It will scratch the surface no matter how clean it is.

No
You can't really say no to the statement you quoted
But I have not seen micro scratches from using the magic eraser for removing goo, provided the surface is clean and lubricated. Even if there were micro scratches, the polishing and waxing takes care of them. But feel free to use a microfiber and a little more elbow grease if you're worried OP.

There was a wheel of wax or something you could buy to put in a drill that would remove the stripes. Said wheel was expensive at the time so I used my thumb nail and WD-40. it sucked. But if they're the barbed wire pin stripes I'd leave them.

Heat gun, slowly peel, turtle wax label and sticker remover for the leftover adhesive.

This is what body shops use, not a heat gun!
Easiest way to take off stripes, and won't hurt the paint.
$20 at any place that sells automotive paint.
Actually, this is what we use in the body shop, but the tool is out of price range for one vehicle.
You could also just bring it to a body shop and pay them a small fee to have it removed....
