And just think, this picture was taken before the flood ...

If it's still section 8 than it won't matter

I remember the strident opposition to this development back in 1995. Several neighborhoods had signs that said "no st Jean apartments"

It's a little slice of NBR right off of South Harrells Ferry near O'Neal

How the hell is this place worth $33 million but Cortana Mall is only worth $6 million?

Because theoretically someone could knock this apartment complex down and actually build something of value ... and South Harrells Ferry Road, along with White Oak Landing still have some very nice properties.

O'Neal Lane on the other hand is a giant disaster.

American Can actually does not seem bad in NOLA. You have to keep a job or you get evicted. I've heard they have a good security system to which prevents jackasses turning common areas to the hood.

I worked that complex sat night of flood from
10-3am, that place wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Few a holes, but in general they were okay. Contrary to some LEO telling us not to go without escort.

Does it have to be section 8? They were actually really nice when it opened. Lots of young couples and families. Had friends that lived there and they never had any trouble. The bigger eye sore is all those duplexes and four plexs just south harrells ferry on O'Neal. They are falling apart and surrounded by great neighborhoods..

They will most likely be mixed income where you pay what you bring in each month. Joe may bring in $35k a yr and pay $700/mt while Sally brings in $18k a year and pays $350/mt. The government will send Audubon Properties a nice check each month to replace to difference. I don't think the term section 8 is used as widespread anymore. A lot of places have restrictions that you must keep a job in order to live there. This keeps out the rift raft.

Those apartments were hit pretty hard. That land is flat and the Amite flooded them out as early as Saturday morning when the rest of that area didn't flood until Sunday morning.

They have some badass apartments there. Supposedly a bunch of strippers/callgirls live there.
