Recommendation(s) for Vasectomy Doctors in Baton Rouge area?

I swore I would never do this. But after years of reminding, hounding and "close calls," it may be time for me to get snipped. We are both at an age where we choose not to have any more children.
What's it like? How long is the actual procedure? Recovery time? Bag of peas? Any issues with first "blast off" after procedure (in terms of pain)?
And which doctor? I assume most insurance plans cover this?

Go down to the animal shelter and talk to one of the vets for the bargain of a lifetime.

Any veterinarian in general practice could handle this

Amy Schmecklee at the BR Clinic. You're welcome.

Short procedure, didn't feel a thing. Maybe some pulling but no pain. I did exactly what the doc told me to do, sit in recliner for 48 hours with the bag of peas on and off. If you had it done on a friday you'd be back to work Monday. Zero pain with the first "blast off".

Maybe you have a larger pecker than I do ... and I am sure she is more than qualified if you recommend her ... but I can't imagine any other woman handling my testicles as delicately as my wife does (in case you are reading honey).

So you can leave in anytime you want, right?

I never have understood why they don't give you some kind of local or put you to sleep for this. They're cutting on your bag.

Yep! After your two samples to make sure you're clear of course.

You get local. Its a very small incision. I can't even tell where mine was now.

How far apart do the samples need to be?

Its been a while but if I remember correctly I had to do 10 "blast offs" before the first sample then about 2 weeks after that another sample. He gave me the all clear after the second sample was clean.
A guy at work recently had one with a different doctor and he just had to give one sample 30 days later so I guess some doctors do it differently.

Ive heard some bad stories but the procedure wasn't that bad for me. Some slight pinches and pulls but nothing horrible

Hour maybe?

Recovery time?
Take 3 days of doing nothing. After day 2 I rode my 4wheeler checking hog traps and shouldn't have.

Yes. Was sore. Its been over a year for me and there are still "soreness" type pain.
