Building In The Preserve at Harveston
Buy In U-Club
Buy In Lexington

We currently have a deposit down on the second filing of Harveston, and assuming we're going to be pressed to make the decision to begin construction very soon. We've also been contemplating purchasing in U-Club (which I find to be a pretty safe investment), and also contemplated Lexington Estates.

What are y'all's thoughts on these neighborhoods, and whether or not they are safe investments?

I know nothing of these but on principle cringe at names like

"The preserve at harveston" "Lexington estates" and the "u-club"

1. Lexington
2. U Club
3. Preserve

UClub is very nice of course, but way over priced. Houses are just as nice in Lexington, and Lexington is expanding so prices are low right now and will jump up in the next few years. Also tons of fees and other crap at U Club. Apparently also a crime problem with spoiled bad kids breaking into homes in U Club, from what I've heard from friends

Lot of fail here.

But I wouldn't go to any of them. Levee ever breaks you better know how to swim.

Agreed. And it's all over new-money developments in BR, AP, and LP.

We currently have a deposit down to build on a lot in Harveston. But obviously have been looking at these other neighborhoods. Saw a good bit of houses in Lexington for around our price range, but I've been hearing some mixed things about Lexington regarding the two fellas that are in this development together, and aren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye on the clubhouse...? Could be totally off base here, but just heard it, and it threw up a red flag for me. Anyone else hear the same?

U Club
Lexington

Harveston

In that order. How many of the same house is being build in Harveston? You won't find at in U Club or Lexington. As for investment purposes, u club sells very quickly best bang for your buck.

Do tell about this crime problem. I have yet to hear about this and I do a lot or work in these two subdivisions.

There was a terrible trailer park near Princeton, Texas that has the name "The Estates of Oak Ridge." The "park" is still there but the sign is now gone. There were trailers with tires on the roof.

Lexington
UClub
Harveston

In regards to Lexington, it is a good, growing neighborhood (stalled after 2007/2008, but has picked up in the last year or two).

Neighborhood pool will be ready for summer, with clubhouse to follow. Don't know about any disagreement as plans have already been submitted and approved by CP. Perhaps timing (one may want to do it all at once while the other wants to stick to pool then clubhouse).

Harveston is a POS

Private streets, alleyways.

Parking and maintenance will/is gonna be a bitch.
