Do they still make these? Is it an appropriate "hunting gift" gift for a 7 year old?

I had one of these when I was a kid....but I think I was more like 10. I thought it was the shite. Mostly sharpened sticks and made spears with mine. Never used all the shite...but for a kid, it was pretty cool.

What are the chances that those fish hooks and line, or the needles to sew up a wound will actually be used?

Is the 7 year old gonna take on a small town in Oregon?

Had one at around 10 or 11. Fricked it up trying to throw it and stick it in a tree

And did you mean to type "Rambo"?

I prefer the double rainbow knife method for self defense.

I had one as a kid, my dad borrowed it for something and snapped the blade in half. I was so pissed.

Had one as a kid, it's still around somewhere. I don't think it ever had an edge on it. I don't know if it came like that or if it was just given to me like that. Either way, probably not a bad idea to take the edge off of an i" blade before giving it to a 7 year old.

I have had one of those since I was maybe 8 or 10. The compass doesn't work as well as my Silva Ranger

That would make a messy garrote.
