I have a 2014 2500 longhorn edition. It has been a great truck for me. No problems. Except the tires that were put on at the factory, bald before 30k. Great truck. You won't be disappointed

congrats you corrected me. I misunderstood a friend when he described Ram truck situation to me.
My point was that the truck line has undergone a redesign that fixes the thing everybody complained about with them. A Cummins speaks for itself, but the interior and fit/finish was a problem with Dodge trucks.

Cummins are one of the best diesel engines, but the problem is the dodge truck surrounding it. If you get 500k out of the motor, it's because you've rebuilt everything around it 2-3 times.
Ford's best diesel was the 7.3 and those got to 500k just fine. Those are no longer made. The newer 6.7 seems to be doing well, but they're too new to really tell.
GM has the Duramax with the Allison transmission. Most Duramax engines don't make it to 500k because most people add on all sorts of performance parts/tunes, but even those still make it to 300k plus. Leave it stock, 500k easy and with no tranny rebuild because it's with the Allison.

The interior fit and finish was an issue, which they have remedied. But the price and the Cummins were the only reasons they ever sold any of them. The quality/reliability of other components is still poor.

Ram is its own company now. Not made by dodge. And they have improved drastically since

People shitting on this truck don't know their arse from a hole in the ground. Even when ram was part of dodge, the Cummins has always been one of the best and most reliable engines in the 2500 class. It was basically the only vehicle worth a shite in the dodge line

Did they fix the rest of the drivetrain? Cuz that's what most people had issues with

yes and now that they have improved the suspension I feel they ride smoother than GMC and Ford. at least the 1500 model

The drivetrain behind the Cummins on the new models is bomb proof.
All of the HD trucks on the market today are good. The ram is probably the most capable from a work/reliability standpoint these days, but it's pretty much a wash between the big 3.

It also handles tongue weight far better than a Ford F-350. Dodge offers factory rear air springs, which is a great solution to log truck ride for log truck capacity. It's also costly.
Take your pick. Do you want a luxurious ride or a stable, level ride with a bunch of tongue weight? Or maybe you want control and are willing to pay for it?
They all have their merits, and are all capable. Shop strictly on price and features you want. For me, I like solid front axles and Cummins, so I'd get a ram.

Currently in a 2014 F-250. Prior to this 2009 F-250. Thinking about the Duramax for my next one. Dodge has never been on my radar but I have nothing against them....personal preference

I had them on a lifted 4x4 half ton that I used to haul hay out of the field when it was wet. A 26' gooseneck with 5x5 round bales as high as you could stack them couldn't make it squat. Air springs are the ultimate accessory for a truck that sees heavy tongue weight and still needs to have decent unloaded manners.
I can't believe it took till 2015 for them to be offered from the factory on a pickup truck.
