I'm in Raleigh/Durham this week for work.
Anything to do? Restaraunt suggestions?
I'm about to drive up to Duke and see if I can snap some pics in Cameron Indoor.
Not a Duke fan, but just appreciate good basketball teams.
Was able to go to Lawrence, KS the week and a half before Christmas and got to take some pics in Fog Allen Fieldhouse. Pretty cool.

Check out Glenwood Avenue, all the night life is down there, lots of good restaurants and a great atmosphere.

Cameron should be open
Go to the Sports hall of fame next door to Cameron
Go to the Cathedral across, easy walk, campus
Go to the Bull Durham bar/rest. In the Washington Duke Inn. Not a bad Walking distance from Cameron.
The football stadium is behind Cameron across the driveway and is always open.
I thought the bookstore was pretty cool if you want a Duke shirt or something.
There is a Burger rest. downtown that brews beer. Was pretty good. I'll try to find the name. EDIT-Bull City Burger And Brewery
If you have a bike, or want to run/walk, the trail in front of the Washington Duke Inn is nice.
There is a beer/rest crawl on Saturday nights that was cool. Not sure if they do it this time of year but it's worthwhile.
You'll be 20 minutes from UNC which I understand that their Hall of Fame is impressive.

Ah yes, the infamous city of "Raleigh-Durham"
Go to the NC State/Northeastern game tomorrow. PNC Arena is way better than Cameron if youre actually into nice state of teh art arenas

Not much tobacco up there anymore.
They get paid not to plant it.

Flying Saucers Draught Emporium in downtown Raleigh is great. Huge beer selection and good food.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Flew in on Saturday. Airport wasn't that bad then except there were literally 5 rental cars to choose from, but luckily someone just dropped off a fully loaded GMC Yukon.

Remember seeing an interview with Shane Battier talking about his time at Duke. When asked about what was the best thing about Durham, he said Raleigh !!!!!

I have some friends from up there. He said when you in town the best place to eat, hands down, is the Red Lobster.
So you should definitely put that on your bucket list.

Raleigh Beer Garden is on Glenwood and just made the Guinness Book of World Recodds as having the most taps.
Lots of good restaurants and beer spots in DT Raleigh. If you want specific cuisine recs let me know.
If you want to catch a game on TV Carolina Ale House on Glenwood is OK
Note: if there is a bowl game happening, it might not automatically be on the bar TV because they'll have it on a meaningless hoops game (they are all meaningless to me until March) before a football game. Drives me nuts..

PNC Arena is just another hockey arena that has basketball in it. Cameron is an actual basketball arena.

I usually stay at the Washington Duke Inn or the Hilton Garden Inn Southpoint. If you like chain places, there's a mall at Southpoint with tons of them.
Decent craft beer scene. Raleigh Beer Garden is legit.
The Pit BBQ is a high end version of BBQ, it's interesting. On the opposite scale, Backyard BBQ Pit is down home and great food.
If you have never been to Cameron Indoor, try to get in. Also, the chapel on Duke's campus is very nice.
