Go to a heating and air supply house and ask for pre-glued armaflex in the diameter of the pipe you have in the crawl space. It comes in 10 foot lengths, split down the middle. Slip it on, pull the paper backing off to expose the glue, and fold the tab over, then tape the joints. You'll be done in half an hour.
