Think it's acceptable to miss a traffic court date due to this severe weather later this afternoon?

Good enough excuse or will they put out a warrant for my arrest for a ticket they just wouldn't let me pay beforehand?

Aren't government offices closing at noon? Is your parish included?

Have no idea. I'm in Metry.

I will probably call in a bit.

A lot of places won't issue a bench warrant until you miss the second or third court date (St. John, St. James, Jefferson, Orleans), but some places do it after the first miss (St. Tammany and EBR).

Even if you get a bench warrant, most of the time you can just call and pay like $150 extra. Some places require you to go in and pay the $150 extra.

Bench warrants aren't a big deal. I've probably had 20 because I used to get enough tickets to forget to pay them

They will issue a warrant, calling usually does no good.
They probably have a big basement at the courthouse.

I think this is technically my 2nd court date as I went to pay it when it was due and they told me I had to have some type of confirmation from my insurance? That took forever to get.

So when I went to pay it a couple of days ago once I got a letter from my insurance agent, they told me that I had to go in front of a judge now. What a waste of time, just take my money.

For David Dr, I just walked in, got some paperwork from the clerk, and paid the cashier

You should go today,it's going to get worse if you don't.The courthouse is a pretty safe place to be.

They might also suspend your license. The Money Badgers don't care.

Guess I'll try that again during lunch. My court time is for 5 and if it's storming out there I'm definitely not driving back.

In Jefferson you will get an attachment if you simply don't show. Court may be closed but just not showing without checking no bueno.
