I don't understand this fricking board.
I can't speak for others, but i've said twice now. I don't trust Putin. But i admire the way he is willing to defend and support his country. I don't want a Russian empire here in America. I know how poor it is there. That's why the Russians are getting involved in this in the first place. For oil. That gives them money and power. Support Assad, make some deals for oil with Syria and Iran, and you're economy has now jumped and you become the new power broker in the ME. And Iraq is ripe for the taking.
I've read quite a bit on Russia, the Soviet Union, etc... Nothing Russia does is not calculated. Which is a trait America should adopt. Thinking 10 steps ahead instead of being so reactionary to everything.
The simple fact is, I want my President to actually stand up for our country, and not apologize for it, and make excuses to the world.

Its actually kind of scary that there are Americans who schlob on someone's knob just because he acts like Chuck Norris even when said someone is entirely terrible for America and democracy. Russia is not a democracy, Putin is a dictator. Just because you don't like Obama doesn't mean you should support the opposite of him.

Putin does all this flag waving propaganda to draw attention away from how shitty his country really is.
Idealogically, Obama has much more in common with Putin than middle America. Don't understand the Putin lovefest.

You forget who is tasked with taking off the leash. At this point it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if we just rolled over and gave them whatever the frick they wanted.

as weak as Obama is, we didn't do that in Ukraine. Putin took the Crimea and the world hit him and his supporters with economic sanctions. Yes, I know that there are some who see the lack of military intervention as a sign of weakness but I think this was a good measured response especially considering everyone in Europe stood up in a unified fashion against Putin.

Even at the heights of the cold war, Russia was unable to completely match the power and technology of the US military. They had greater numbers but those forces would have melted when met with American/NATO warpower. They can build back up into a formidable foe but I seriously doubt they will ever over take the US

And now they're out of Crimea correct?

You misunderstood my meaning. I didn't mean to imply that Russia will simply overtake us militarily. I meant to imply that our own government is slowly attempting to dissolve our military strength.

I agree with your thoughts and hate for Putin but if you think this would happen with our current CIF you are delusional.

I'm tired of these pro-Putin threads.
That's why you are seeing so many pro Putin threads. Pretty sad

yeah, i'm just glad someone else is doing some of the dirty work in this fight, for once....
it's a shame, however, that it took so many people dying to get some of these other countries off the fricking sideline and into the game

I don't know about the heights, but at the beginning of the Cold War, they had us beat, technologically speaking. We caught up, but they had someone in space while we were still trying to figure out how to do it. Luckily we had some Germans to help us out.

I smell what you're stepping in Turd... Do you really want the US to go to war over it though?
If he tries to take more of the Ukraine, then yes we need to consider military intervention. If he carries out the long rumored attacks on the Baltic states which are NATO signatories, we definitely need to respond militarily.

Sure. First video in the link should sum it up for you. lol
Sigh...How about you explain it, instead of linking Daily Show? Use your own words. Not some liberal comedian.
FWIW, i'm not watching video's people link. Can't see many here at work.

Not everyone in this thread qualify though. Some simply like the fact he is a man of action, even if that action is complete shite, at least he's doing something...
