So we are registering my son for Preschool this week and my wife gets a call from school board saying that in order to register the child both parents must provide last 2 paystubs from employer.............

Uhhhh....frick that.....What kind of shite is this??? Anyone else heard of this? They said it's a new state wide rule.

I have no idea how anyone's income is the business of a public school or school board and seems to be an invasion of privacy.

I'm guessing it's another way to check your residency?

In certain parishes, public preschool is only available for certain income classes I believe

It may also be for the free lunch application

I've never heard of a public preschool, it's totally free child care basically? If so its probably a program for underprivileged and you must be under a certain income level.

They have a specific form for free lunch according to my wife who teaches. So this just seems like overkill

Kindergarten is school. Preschools are day care that call themselves school.

Negative. This isn't a separate day school or something. This is at an elementary school preK thru 5th grade

It's for poors or blacks

You must not be either, that's why your child can't go.

If your wife is a teacher, wouldn't she know this shite?

All the teachers just found out about it. They've never done it before and still really don't know why they are requesting it.

Apparently the school board has been getting shite about it since yesterday

Did you ask the school why they want your income ?

I believe it's them trying to get more funding by proving there are poor parents or some shite.

It is what it is but how can a public school threaten to not enroll your child if you do not disclose your friggin income. That just seems like some bullshite to me

It is a new state regulation. Formerly, a lunch status form was filled out. Now the previous two check stubs of any adults domiciled in the household is required to qualify for LA4 funds.

If you make to much money, you won't get picked. Lowest income families go first. If you make money, you get to pick where you live, and the low income families in your district get first shot at preschool. See, being poor has it's perks too!

Free public school starts in kindergarten. Free public Pre-k is for lower income folks.
