agree, but the constant sneezing and coughing is what bothers me the most. I'm not worried about catching anything as I have a hell of an immune system.

The problem though is not everyone around has a full immune system. And then there are those you come into contact with daily who in turn might live with someone with a compromised or weak immune system like a grandparent or newborn baby.

To most people something like the flu, while not fun, is nothing more than a few days of inconvenience. But to those around you it can be life threatening to them or their loved ones.

Point being, people need to be more thoughtful to those around them.

No one wants to go to work sick. This is a top down type of issue.

I am in the equipment business and I believe you are as well. There a ton of hardasses in upper management (especially at my old branch/company) that think you have to be dead to miss a day of work.

Unfortunately some of us still work for old school industries and bosses who want to see butts in seats come hell or high water.

Eff that. My coworkers are the ones who got me sick. I'm returning the favor.

I coughed all over your chair before you came in this morning. Oh, and I pissed in your coffee cup. Stop being a pansy and fight some germs.

Your shitty heart and bad immune system is of no importance to me. That all sounds like a you problem.

People who take sick days get promoted less.

You're right. I'm in the equipment business (think yellow) and the prevailing attitude I've see. Over the years is unless you've got a bone sticking out or something they expect you to work. Thankfully those those old codgers are falling off and retiring now and people are starting to realize how stupid it is to expect sick people to come and make everyone else sick.

We just have six employees at my job. 3 of those workers have another full time job. We share a small 100 sq ft office. Only one employee works at a time but sharing two computers places us at risk for germs. I bring the Clorox wraps.

Can't miss work

People using their sick voice when calling in sick makes me cringe. Unless you've lost your voice to the sickness, most all the time you can speak in a normal tone.

I 100% contribute this to snotty secretaries who have to take that call and start the "Well they didn't even sound sick" bullshite.

That really depends on if the person calling in sick is an habitual offender.

My old service department was run by marine vet. hardass but really good at his job. It's a tough balance between letting your techs have a good/work life and getting shite done. Especially when you start dealing with cranes, it is impossible to find enough good hands.

What's nuts is the worst offenders of being too hard on their employees was almost always parts guys. I'll never understand why but my old parts manager was a slave driver
