But staring at the sun will. Doesn't matter if it's August 21, 2017 or some random Tuesday in April. Don't stare at the sun unless you have appropriate eyewear

It will hurt your arse though if you PLUG it with a cactus while watching!

Isn't the sun part of the total solar eclipse?

Yeah, a tots eclipse of the heart

I just hope we don't burn up when the sun's cold rays get blocked by the moon.

Oh how convenient. Just when we start to unmask their lies about the ball Earth they spring a "solar eclipse" on us. More bullshite propaganda to distract you from the facts.

Mama always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is

I saw a local group on facebook was going to have a public eclipse viewing party at a park. One woman asked if they could reschedule it to Saturday, since some kids weren't getting the day off to see it.
I don't think that's how eclipses work.

The problem is staring at the moon, while the sun is behind it. People think because the sun isn't visible, that the UV, IV, and Gamma rays aren't going to hurt them, but it still will. That is why it is so dangerous. You're going to be able to stare at this without your eyes signaling your brain to look away...

the problem is in this area the moon will never fully cover the sun. So during the entire event you WILL be looking at the sun.
And yes a solar eclipse will hurt your eye without proper protection lol

quote:this is 100% false during totality. We had a guy from NASA drop by my office and he said if you don't take your glasses off during totality you will completely miss the eclipse.

During totality it's perfectly safe to stare at the Moon
