the price is pretty good for the first 12 months, but is there anyway to maybe argue with them to knock down that price for the remaining 12 months?

There is a two year price lock guarantee if you have an ATT mobile account.

Just call them .. They are usually willing to drop a discount. Just say your bill is getting way to high, then ask when your contract will expire. They will transfer you another department and give you some deals to get the price down.

When I tried to get a discount they couldnt help me. I wanted my bill to be no more than $30 a month. It was $50-60. They said they would add more channels for the same price I was paying. I told them to cancel it. They did. Been without cable/satellite for 2 years now. I miss ESPN and NFLN but I wasnt spending 50+ a month to watch 10 channels out of 120 or 200. If every customer would cancel the service the price would drop like a rock but people seem to need TV.

Seems like they are much less willing to negotiate to keep you as a customer since they merged with Att.

I never take no for an answer when negotiating lower bill payments. I'll keep calling to get different customer service reps each time. As long as your demands aren't outrageous you'll eventually get someone who doesn't give a shite to give you what you want.

Have every channel a genie plus six boxes, was paying almost 200 a month. Got some guy who really helped me out. Got me down to 130 a month good for a whole year. They will most certainly help you, but like someone said you just have to get the right guy.

How?

My DirecTV bill is around $140/mo and I've been a customer for prob a decade and that shite mysteriously goes up and up.

I have DVR, HD, HBO, SHO (which is about $40-50 right there).

Other than local channels, we don't watch but about 10 other channels including local.

Here is how this works.

They all pretty much know that you only have a few options for cable. They don't have to drop very much. It's way more of a pain in the butt to keep haggling the other services and not get anywhere.

Think about the previous posts about cell phone plans that people cry about on here. They go from service to service and then get pissy because they won't budge.

These companies have the market on lock and don't need to move just cause you act pissy

Yea call and ask. Don't play the "I'm going to cancel" game, they already know what you want so just ask.

They haven't been willing to make me a better deal. I am out of contract, and I cancelled the $7 a month insurance on their equipment a while ago. I am going to give the firetv a try.
