Thinking about doing this. Anyone do this? If so, what equipment do you use and what do you charge? If you don't do this on the side what do you think someone could charge to do this? Thinking about getting the surface cleaner
Surface cleaner

And this pressure washer

try to line up some work first, a lot of places are under contract for scheduled cleanings, it can be a good side gig

Dude you can't go into business with that shitty equipment.

A good surface cleaner will cost you about a grand. Need to spend close to that on a pressure washer too.

Look at pressure washers direct if you're actually interested in doing it as a job. Home Depot only has two or three pressure washers and no surface cleaners that I'd consider using

Yea no shite. That's some ticky tacky crap and OP will be there all day doing a job that a commercial true application would knock out in hours.

OP has proven again and again he is a moron, though.

Like someone said, it depends on what you are looking to do. Are you trying to build a legit business or are you trying to get a few dollars for some refer?

A true pro set up with a holding tank and gas/diesel water heater.

refer set up

I did this one time. Spent $15,000 on start up. Do your homework....which obviously you haven't done. Maybe by next spring you'll be ready to start. Good luck

No. There is no reimbursement from HUD for pressure washing so very rarely do banks do it. It MAY happen on occasion if once a house conveys to REO but that is still very rare. I manage bank repos for a living.

If you're going to do pressure washing professionally, even if it is on the side, you need professional equipment. For surface cleaning you need the highest flow and pressure that you can use on city water. Make sure your pressure washer is equipped with a cat 45 and is either belt or gear driven not direct drive. As mentioned earlier get insurance first. As for surface washing prices start at $0.12 a square foot that's the cheapest and easiest and cleanest

That's a shitty surface cleaner. I had one and returned it after I used it for an hour

Most places charge by the square foot and your typical home/ driveway in a neighborhood is going to cost $400-$600. Time is money so you'll need at least 4.5 gpm at 3000psi, preferably higher and a good surface cleaner. For surface cleaners, steel eagle, mosmatic and whirl-a-way are good brands. The weak point is the rotary swivel and other brands swivels don't last.
Pressure washers with udor or cat pumps are really good and easily serviceable.

If you want to start up on the cheap, dewalt makes a pressure washer with a cat pump that will run a 20in surface cleaner and you can rent a decent surface cleaner for $30 a day.
If you want to buy everything, Bozemans or Hydro-quip in BR can fix you up and make sure everything is sized properly, show you how to maintain it, etc.

Check pawn shops for your equipment.

There was a great thread on here a few years ago that gave all the secrets for making extra money pressure washing.
