Simpson PS3228-S PowerShot 3200 PSI 2.8 GPM Honda GX200 Engine Gas Pressure Washer

vs.

YAMAHA 3000 PSI 2.8 GPM Pre

For residential use. Gas only. Prefer horizontal shaft engine as opposed to vertical shaft engine. Plan to use surface attachment. I've read that CAT and General are the pumps to consider. GPI is more important than PSI.

Between these two, is the Yahama worth the price difference? Or do you have a brand I should consider?

Not an expert,on pressure washers, but I have owned a couple of them.
I guess you mean horizontal shaft engine, but anyway, The Yamaha is completely built by Yamaha, and has their name on it,which means there is probably a dealer/service dept. within 5 miles of your house.
The other one has a Honda engine, and that's great, but it is actually put together by some other company, without local dealers.Chances are,if you have a problem,it won't be with the Honda engine.
If you are going to use it a lot, I would probably go with the Yamaha.

I haven't ever heard of those AAA pumps, and there isn't jack shite about them on the internet. Good or bad, who knows?

Ideally, you'd run a GX200 with an AR, CAT, or General pump. Probably most common setup for homeowners who get good pressure washers. Industry uses what's called "cleaning units" now to measure the ability of a pressure washer because both flow and pressure matter.

Look around at pressure washers direct. They'll usually give you a free hose and wand if you buy a new pressure washer

Built in AR in the same place as Dewalt ones

If you're not starting a pressure washing business, both of those are way more machine than you need for simple, residential use.

The honda is the best engine IMO but the actual pump on the model you linked is garbage.

What you need is a Honda motor with a Cat pump.

I've read that some Simpson buyers have had a difficult time claiming warranty work through the manufacturer, if purchased online. Have you had to file any warranty work?

Good to know. Do you have a brand recommendation that fits this criteria?

I wasn't able to find anything substantial about the AAA pumps. Naturally having a "powerboost" feature makes me suspicious, but I couldn't find anything else out

OP needs a GX390 and an Udor pump

Will, look at pressure washers direct

What are your thoughts on the Yamaha I linked above? Are there any "downsides" to this model?

Yamaha uses this:

Durable, Brass Pump by Cat Pumps®: A leader in quality pressure washer pumps

One of the better ones, right?

Yes. CAT, general, and AR are very good pumps. Just change the oil and seals, keep the filter clean, and they'll last a really long time

What are your thoughts on the Yamaha engine (and brand, in general)?

For the link provided above, is engine shaft considered horizontal or vertical? I can't find any details in their specifications and the pictures that I am looking at aren't too detailed.

Appreciate your feedback. See question above about engine shaft.

I have 2 Pressure washers

1 is a large Briggs Vangaurd with a Cat Pump (4000 psi). Good machine

The smaller is a Rigid Brand from Home depot. Its got a Honda motor and a Cat pump. I think its 3000 psi.

Further, I don't think this will matter for the size washer you are looking at but PSI is not the only factor. VOLUME of water is another factor. My 4000 psi is a commercial unit and the volume rating is a good bit more.

This is measured by GPM, correct?
