Holy shite, Americans in general are absolutely retarded. The first verified winner has come forward on national news (Today Show) and announces they won the jackpot. This guy is carrying the ticket in his front pocket and has yet to contact Tennessee Lottery. I really can't fathom how they agreed to listen to their doofus lawyer.

To think the thugs of NYC will mug for a watch/ring/phone. This idiot just announced to the world that he's holding a piece of paper worth hundreds of millions of dollars.......he should have gone with armed security instead of his lawyer (and his lawyers daughter, WTF?)

Pretty ignorant to decide to keep working when they took the lump sum. Or am I just too high at the moment?!

If he's made it public, wouldn't it prohibit someone who stole the ticket from cashing it?

It's dumb, but whatever. Doesn't affect anyone except him.

The guy said it was the lawyers idea to go on a show like the Today Show before turning the ticket in. I figured at that point the lawyer had some sweet plan/reasoning. His reasoning was essentially "because that will get you (and me) on tv". First thing he should do with that money is get a decent lawyer. I have no idea why anyone would think it was in their best interest to wait to turn the winning ticket in.

Ignorant isn't really the word I would use.

If only one or two of the three winning tickets is redeemed are you entitled to a greater share of the jackpot? Anyone know?

He said his lawyer told him to go on tv. My first reaction: "Get a new f*ckin' lawyer."

And they'd still know he won had they not gone on TV.
