The Searcy County sheriff says two people from a lumber mill came into a remote forest area to look at the timber tracts. They were disturbed by what they found: dozens of dead dogs scattered throughout the woods."This is my first in 25 years of law enforcement I've never seen anything like this," said Sheriff Joey Pruitt.
No one lives in the timber land where the massacre occurred. The sheriff thinks someone brought the dogs out here, fed them poison, and opened fire.
"Systematically just start shooting and just leaving them lying and not even making sure that they're dead. I just can't imagine somebody doing that," Pruitt said.
The sheriff and state investigators recovered evidence, but they're still processing the massive crime scene. No suspects have been named, but the sheriff does want to reassure the public, "I don't think they're stealing people's pets."
So far 56 dogs have been found either poisoned and/or shot to death. Another dog that was shot and wounded had to be put down by a game warden, bringing the total to 57. Magruder says there was no hope of saving the dog that had to be euthanized because of its injuries.
A few dogs survived. That's why Magruder was out in the forest for the third day in a row. He had a dog travel crate, and a bag of food. He's been feeding survivors and trying to lure and rescue them.

Find the culprit, provide him the same treatment.

What is the limit on dogs in Arkansas this time of year?

Probably related to your muslims that were buying cell phones and stealing propane tanks. They are planning a major midwest attack and needed to desensitize some recruits to killing.

It was probably the W Memphis Three.

Surprised no one has mentioned the possibility of Arkansas Muslims practicing on dogs what they may do to humans in the near future...
ETA: Someone in fact did mention muslims...

Maybe it's part of the final exercise for the police academy.

Naw man... it's not like you'll get 57 counts of 1st degree murder for shooting dogs. I'm pretty sure by the legal definition you can't murder a dog.

Then he went and ate a donut for every life taken.

I know a person that did this with cats. His mom had literally a hundred cats at her house, the smell was unbearable and they just kept multiplying. He got fed up with it and took out everyone that he could see or catch.
It sounds psycho but the neighbors didn't complain.
