Michael Brown's grave marker in Springfield...
This one,
Not
This one
The tale was that he died as a result of a hit and run... supposedly he knew his killer, but no-one was arrested. A few days after he was buried, his mother noticed a picture had been carved into the back of the grave marker that wasn't there when it was placed...a picture that resembled the possible crime scene, with names attached to stick people including those in a car near a prone stick person in the street labeled "Michael". A text bubble coming from "Michael" reads "I love it!"
A quote had been chosen to adorn the headstone, and its seemingly double-meaning adds to the mystery: beneath his name and birth/death dates reads,
"May the work that I have done speak for me."
It was on Unsolved Mysteries back in the day. I actually saw it when I was at SLU. Has been debunked, I'm sure.
