Has anyone heard an estimate on the amount of people affected by the floods, amount of land flooded? Anything else along those lines?

The mayor of Denham Springs announced earlier that an estimated 90% of all home in and around the Denham area took on water. That's a huge number all by itself.

Pretty much everyone in SW LA is gonna be affected in some way.

This literally changes everything. Where you can go, how you get there, where you can buy groceries. And those of us that escaped water in our homes will be called on to take in others in need.

We'll all be affected, but we'll come out stronger and more unified because of it. We'll show our true mettle. What makes us who we are.

Are you TigerPox's brother?

Seriously, I am curious to see how this will impact the population. I am sure there will be a lot of people relocating and some shifting going around...

Since there wasn't much infrastructure or utilities damage, I can't imagine rebuilding taking that long

Right, I was really surprised how many porch lights were still on as I was boating down these flooded roads.

Ha... No not even close, just curious. Usually the media is throwing out all kinds of crazy, random numbers (How many fish tanks this water would fill, kind of bullshite) and I thought it was odd they hadn't spoke much of it.

Not sure if you've seen some pictures of roads and bridges but there will be construction going on for a long time on that.

I hope you're safe.

And stay safe while you're fricking the hell off.

Please and thanks.
