Has anyone ever worked or managed one of these places. I go to one every Wednesday after my daughters basketball practice. The sign on the door says it closes at 10:00 but every time we arrive around 8:45 they never have any chicken. It appears they star cleaning at 8:30! Is this normal?

Fun Fact:

Popeye's late night chicken is extruded through shake machines!

I wouldn't say it is "normal"....but I could see how it would happen. chicken is some pretty expensive shite to be throwing away at the end of the night, so they probably don't want to be having a bunch of it cooked that late when it is not likely to get purchased...

Popeye's is one of the most frustrating fast food joints in the nation

Literally everyone you go to (whether it's in New Orleans or Oklahoma) they are poorly managed and the service is terribad

Just take a look at the type of people who work there especially at night.

I understand throwing chicken could be costly but they always have cars parked waiting on food. It just seems like not cooking any chicken 1.5 hours before closing is absurd.

Surprise, real-life minimum wage fast food workers aren't the smiling, merry workers portrayed by actors on TV. After a couple times I'd move on to another go-to spot that night but that's just me.

You can call their customer complaint line but you'll get about as much satisfaction as you'll get in this thread.

Lazy employees and bad managers - essentially, the are closing an hour or so early.

I think the OP should just acknowledge that he won't get any chicken 1.5 hours before closing.

For popeyes? Yes, this sounds accurate.

Good point. My only defense is that they're so abnormal I completely forgot them when thinking of fast food places.

I once waited for 25 minutes for chicken there at night. I won't be visiting the location again.

We drove through the one in cool springs the other day and.. No shite..the drive through was wrapped THREE circles deep around the building. The traffic employee was doing a flawless job getting the cars who had their food out through the other 2 rings....

And because it was raining chick had an army of happy smiling workers with umbrellas helping soccer moms with kids and babies into their parked cars

Hate away but that was awesome to watch. I didn't see a single frown on a customer or employees face.

I stop at Church's on Plank on way to work nights sometimes. Twice in the last few years I have been told they ran out of chicken. Not ran out like none fried. Ran out like none left to cook. How does that happen?
